Damn Near Famous ;)

As if I needed more reasons to be more PROUD of my husband!!  D magazine just put out a FABULOUS two page article on The Meddlesome Moth, Shannon Wynne and CHAD and his yummy menu!! I couldn’t be happier for my husband, he’s worked so hard to pull this thing together and although they are still working out the kinks, they’ve had a GREAT first few months. Watch out world...Chef Chad Kelley is taking Dallas by STORM!

Don't forget to click on the picture to view the article up-close and personal!  Happy Reading.  :)

Bastille Day at the Bishop Arts District

So it begins...Chad's first official "event" at the Meddlesome Moth took us to "France" as we celebrated Bastille Day with what seemed like THOUSANDS of Dallas area folks at the Bishop Arts District.  From a wine walk around the block throughout the local shops, to a french maids race.... and EVEN a Mussels competition featuring my very own private Chef-love, the first annual Bastille on Bishop was a HUGE success!  Right on task, we arrived a little before seven to set up Chad's tent where he'd be cooking up one of the Moth's signature mussels preparations... The Diablo.  HOT and SPICY!  :)

And hot and spicy it WAS as the temperatures reached well into the 90's even as the sun set over the crowd.  Yikes!  I can't imagine how Chad was feeling as he slaved over his mussels, trying his hand at beating out the other 8 Dallas area chefs there that night.

One of 9 chef tents ready to hand out tasty samples of their mussels.

The other Chef's competing that night:
Marc Cassel – Park
Graham Dodds – Bolsa
Randal Copeland – AVA
Michelle Carpenter – Zen Sushi
David Uygur – Lucia
Tim Byers – Smoke
Kelly Hightower – Nova
Tony Gardizi – Capriccio & Decanter

Boy was it HOT!!

Part of the festivities included a HUGE chess board, set out for those young and old to play with!

That's ONE SERIOUS FACE!

Working his magic

Getting interviewed WHILE he cooked!
This guy was apparently from D magazine's SideDish.
And look at that paparazzi behind Chad!

Making sure the flame was still strong

Yummmmm... how pretty!

Getting his "plates" ready for judging..

Sooooooo serious!

So as it turned out, Mr. Kelley didn't win the competition but we were in good company so we thought we would check out Eno's Pizzeria down the street while passing up the sidewalk painters  :)

And the cool collection of Vespa's!  How Euro chic.  ;)

Fossil Rim Wildlife Center - Glenrose, Tx

After much deliberation about how this Sunday Funday would be spent together, Chad and I finally decided to break in our new Prius with it's first ROAD TRIP down to Glen Rose, Texas to visit Texas' own animal safari!  Talk about an ADVENTURE!  It wasn't anything like we expected but after an almost two and a half hour drive through miles of rolling hills, we encountered the most docile and curious creatures you'd ever seen.

Sweet little deer family..

Cute little guy :)

Nap time..

Well HELLO THERE..  ;)  Hehehehehe..
Yes you're seeing this correctly, he literally had his head IN the car!

Up close and personal

Just shy of our car window... :)

Pretty intimidating I must say!
I loved this guy!  He was RIGHT there by our car...
SOOOO UNREAL!

hehehehe.. that tongue was a mile long!

I shall call him Herb ;)

Chad's buddy... Number 550 :)

So this guy...

Was a bit freaky..  lol

And this guy...
Yeah this one RIGHT HERE...

Thought it would be REAL cute to stick his head into our car and SNORT ON US!!!!

Chad and I have never laughed SO HARD!!  It scared the CRAP out of us!!

it's almost like he's laughing at us.  :)  lol... What a punk!

So I think Chad's face says it all...hahahaha!  :)

This was Snotty's evil twin.  :)

Channeling his inner "hunter", Chad tried his luck with a loud belting "Gobble, Gobble, Gobble" turkey call and this guy actually came RUNNING to us!
And yes, Chad literally yelled the words "Gobble, Gobble, Gobble"... lol.
 My husband's a NUTHEAD!  :)

Happy Father's Day Pops :)

My first true love.  My dad.  One of the greatest men I've ever known.  Thank you for your heart, your inspiration and for your constant support throughout these years.  I love you so much dad, I'd be lost without you guys!  Here's to a wonderful Father's Day... I miss you... See you in a few weeks!  :)

Wicked - The Musical

What an amazing day Chad and I had this past Funday Sunday at Fair Park Music Hall.  To be quite honest, I didn't have any expectations going into this, because I truly didn't know what Wicked was all about.  I knew it was the story of the witches of Oz but I couldn't have prepared myself for the way the story played out.  There was laughter, romance, angst, betrayal, joy, and simply an increbible cast of talented actors that nearly blew off the roof with their amazing voices.  It was a thrill hearing the crowd EXPLODE after a moving number by Elphaba, who in my opinion, stole the show.  I have a hard time believing that any other broadway show can beat this one.

Beach Babe Gone Wild ;)

With summer fully upon us, and the Texas heat wave in full force, Christi and Omar wasted no time getting Addie adjusted to the summer heat.  Between trips to my parents trailer down at South Padre Island and the jumbo inflatable pool they have perfectly positioned under their porch at their house, Addie has become very fond of the water.  :)  Even though it seems like FOREVER since I've seen her, Christi keeps me up to speed on "All things Addie" with the cutest summer pictures of her!  Here's a look at what she's been up to this summer.  :)

What a smile!  Hanging out at my parents trailer.  :)

Lovin' those cute flip flops Addie. :)

Awww.. Addie and her Mama, Christi.

A sweet smile with her Dad

Havin' some fries at Pirate's Landing

Anything for this sweet girl... A princess swimsuit and a cute baby pool just for her!

She's growing up so FAST!
